Tour itinerary
DAY 1Lao Cai – Sapa – Cat Cat Village
Meet the shared transfer in Lao Cai and travel uphill to Sapa. After breakfast and time to settle in, trek approximately 6 km to Cat Cat, a Black Hmong village set among terraces and waterfalls. Learn about local crafts and everyday life before returning to Sapa. Overnight at Cat Cat Hotel or similar.
DAY 2Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van
Descend into the Muong Hoa Valley and follow paths through sculpted rice terraces to Lao Chai, home to Black Hmong families. Continue to Ta Van village for lunch and time with the Giay community. The total walk is approximately 12 km. Dinner and overnight in a simple local homestay.
DAY 3Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Sapa – Lao Cai
Walk through bamboo forest and terraced country to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao village. After lunch, transfer back to Sapa for a shower and rest, then take the shared bus to Lao Cai railway station for your onward night train.
